We’re committed to local food
Just Food was founded, due in large part, to our community’s desire to have greater access to locally grown food and support local, sustainable farmers. As such, building the local food system is of great importance to us. In addition to labeling our local products and working directly with many small farmers, we hold an Eat Local Challenge for one month in the late summer/early fall and a week in the winter to encourage community members to become aware of the many locally produced foods available to us in southeastern Minnesota. We also hold a CSA Day each spring to connect eaters with the community-supported agriculture farms that offer shares in their seasonal bounty.

In early 2009, Eat Local:Just Food was born. This blog space gives volunteer bloggers a place to share recipes, stories and thoughts on the local food movement. It was simply the next logical step in our advocacy for local food.

We’re more than just a grocery store. As a co-op, we’re owned by more than 1,800 of your friends and neighbors. Our owners have invested in this store and participate in its governance.
